Constance Erica Gates Curry was born on April 22, 1949 in Rochester,NY. She was the youngest child of Robert and Mary Elizabeth Gates. She had a older brother, Gregory Gates, and a older sister Sharon Gates Hutton. She moved with her family at a young age to Orlando,FL. There she spent her growing years. She went to Conway Elementary School and Boone Highschool. At Boone Highschool she was on the swim and softball teams. After highschool she married Jerry Parks and on December 24,1972 she had her first child , a son, Grady Alexander Curry. After divorcing Jerry Parks she moved to Cuthbert,GA with her parents and young son. There she met and married the love of her life William Shannon Curry. They married on April 10, 1976. They settled in Shellman, GA. Shannon adopted her son as his own. Two years after they were married they had a daughter, Rebecca Gates Curry, on April 4, 1978. They were blessed with their youngest child , Erica Shannon Curry, on January 31,1981. They lived happily in Shellman for a few more years till they moved to Orlando. In Orlando Connie enjoyed her occupation as a administrative secretary at Florida Central University. In 1991 they moved back to Shellman,Ga and settled into a large, old home that Connie loved. Back in Georgia Connie enjoyed various jobs in the education field and at Merck Chemical Company. In 1994 Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She never lost hope that she would beat cancer. In 1995 she went into remission but was diagnosed again in 1997 with cancer in the other breast. She never lost hope and faith that she would beat cancer. During this time she became very spiritual and active in the church. She went into remission again in 1997 and got to enjoy watching her children graduate, go to college, and "leave the nest". Also on December 23,2000 she was there for the marriage of her youngest child, Erica, to Robert Repasky.Connie was diagnosed with cancer again in 2001.She again fought cancer bravely but lost her battle on June 10, 2001.Connie left this world after watching her children grow and after celebrating 25 years of marriage to the love of her life. Her death as left a void in the hearts of everyone who knew her and the sweetest memories to those who loved her.

She worked many years as an administrative secretary in the education field and two years in clerical work at Merck Chemical Company in Albany, Ga.

Connie was very active in her church and was the greatest wife to her husband William Shannon Curry and the best "mama" her children could ever want. She was also an accomplished swimmer and softball player.

We all loved her and we miss her. Heaven has a beautiful angel. We miss you Mama. Love forever, Rebecca (Becky) and Erica (Eri)

She was the best Mama we could ever have and the best wife our
father could ever have known. She fought cancer bravely for seven
years and in those seven years she became the most wonderful role
model for my life. She was also my best friend. I am blessed for ever having her and wait for the day when I can see her again.

Hugs and Kisses, Mama:
Love always and forever,
your Becky
